As you now know, short-term medical plans are no longer allowed to be sold in California.
Because it is a HealthSharing plan and not health insurance, Aliera can still be sold as short-term medical for up to 364 days in California.
Coverage is very affordable. A family of four aged 40 – 49, can get coverage for as little as $345 per month.
Aliera Short-Term Medical solves the following problems you encounter with your clients:
- Your client needs coverage immediately. With Aliera, your client can be covered at 12:01 AM the next day.
- Clients that have a gap in coverage between now and when their ACA plan takes effect on January 1.
- Clients that get canceled for non-payment of premium and still need coverage. Since non-payment of premium is not a qualifying event, your client cannot enroll until January 1 and goes without coverage in the interim,
- A client is in-between jobs and needs coverage until their health insurance at their new employer starts.
- The client applies for Covered CA on the 16th of the month and has to wait until the first of the following month for coverage to take effect (essentially 45 days without coverage).
